Welcome to my website.

Eleftheria Elvanidi is a psychologist, a graduate of the Psychology Department of Panteion University, with a Master's degree in Clinical Psychology from Swansea University in Wales, United Kingdom. She has completed professional training in Psychodynamic Psychotherapy at a Wessex Counselling & Psychotherapy Centre, a UK institution recognized by the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and the British Psychoanalytic Council (BPC). Her Master's degree is fully recognized based on the equivalence criteria of the Greek National Center for Academic Recognition (DOATAP). She holds a professional license (Registration No. 4452).

Throughout her professional career as a psychologist, she has worked in private and public mental health organizations in the UK and Greece, as well as in the field of education. She has supported individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds facing chronic mental illnesses and psychological difficulties, aiming for their psychological and social reintegration and improvement of their quality of life.

Since 2020, she has maintained her private practice in the center of Athens, where she provides individual sessions of psychodynamic psychotherapy for adults and adolescents, both in person and online, in English.

Her therapeutic approach is psychodynamic, aiming to explore the unconscious processes underlying symptoms, feelings of psychological discomfort, or internal conflicts that may be experienced from time to time. She believes that creating a safe environment and a trusting therapeutic relationship is of utmost importance, as this is where clients' narratives unfold, encouraging them to seek personal meaning within their discourse. She follows the path opened by clients through free association, dreams, memories, and fantasies, supporting their efforts to find meaning in their experiences, from past events to what is happening in their present.

Eleftheria Elvanidi - Psychologist

I may not have been in psychotherapy for long, but it feels like I've been in therapy for years, that's how familiar I feel with my psychologist. From the first moment I knew that I want her to be by my side in the darkest paths of my mind and soul! I am proud to face directly the problems I have hidden inside me for so many years!

Thank you so much for what I experience every time we have our conference, I am grateful!

From the first session I had with Ria, I was soothed by her calming presence and for the first time, knew I was doing something productive for my mental health.

Over four and a half years later, I'm still here, I've learned a huge amount about myself, my triggers, and most importantly the reasons I have them in the first place. I've learned how to breathe, take a step back, stop myself from catastrophising and see the bigger picture. I can see the patterns of my behaviour (and that of others) and feel equipped to break unhealthy cycles when needed.

I'm not "cured". I still have very tough periods, but I have the tools now to handle them without spiralling, and I'm extremely grateful to have found Ria when I did. It's certainly not been an easy journey, and there have been many ups and downs, but I know I'm still here because of the work we've done together, and would urge anyone who's in the same position I was in four years ago to do the same. To say it's been life changing would be an understatement.
